LITCHFIELD — A program titled “Approaches to the Cross of Christ” will be presented by Leo O’Donovan, SJ at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center on March 26 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
This Lenten program will offer meditations on various representations of Christ’s cross and the different liturgical and spiritual contexts they reveal and support. As they travel with Jesus towards Jerusalem, the participants will ask themselves, “How do I imagine the cross? Where have I found images of it that sustain and challenge me?” The program hopes to stir and enrich our religious imaginations, both individually and communally.
O’Donovan is president emeritus of Georgetown University. He has been Visiting Professor of Theology at Fordham University, the BMW Distinguished Visitor at The American Academy in Berlin and a Lecturer in Systematic Theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
The fee is $40 and includes lunch. There is a non-refundable fee of $15. Each participant may bring one friend for an extra $20 payable with registration. Scholarships are available.
