Helping your place of worship advance in the digital age

HARTFORD – If Facebook were a country, it would be the world’s third largest. Yet a recent report by LifeWay Research shows that 40 percent of churches aren’t even using social media.

On the web right now, there are more than 200,000,000 blogs. But many places of worship don’t even have a website. The Internet can be overwhelming. How do you build a website? How do you maintain it? How do you get ranked on Google? How do you have a web presence?

Creedible.com can help. Creedible is an online magazine that covers faith news in Connecticut. On March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at La Paloma Coffee House, 405 Capitol Ave. in Hartford, Social Media Expert Amy Desmarais and Creedible Editor Tracy Simmons will host a free discussion for clergy on how places of worship can use the web to reach a broader audience.

The event is free, though donations are always accepted. Coffee and light snacks will be provided, and sandwiches will be available for purchase.
