NORTHAMPTON – To some, churches can be uninviting or intimidating places.
That in mind, three area ministers are turning the idea of a church building on its head by offering outdoor Sunday services they call Cathedral in the Night.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, the outdoor worship service will be held for the third time on the front lawn of St. John's Episcopal Church on Elm Street. Even though it's outside, the Rev. Christopher Carlisle said he and other organizers enlisted student architects to help give their Cathedral a physical presence.
