Concert series begins at Simsbury church

SIMSBURY — A free carillon concert series begins tonight at Simsbury United Methodist Church. The concerts, co-presented by the Farmington Valley Carillon Society, are free and open to the public. They will be each Sunday through July at 7 p.m. at the church, 799 Hopmeadow St.

Here are the upcoming shows:

June 27 – The Simsbury Guild of Carillonneurs

July 4 – Daniel K. Kehoe, Carillonneur, Simsbury United Methodist Church

July 11 – David Maker, Carillonneur, Storrs Congregational Church with Nicole Bernier

July 18 – Marcel Siebers, Carillonneur, City Carillonneur, Venlo, The Netherlands

July 25 – This concert will celebrate 500 years of carillon and will feature a commissioned work for brass and carillon entitled “Fanfare 500”
Gerard de Waardt and Richard de Waardt, City Carillonneurs, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
