Board member backs creationism

I’d expect a member of a Texas school board to promote creationism, but was a little surprised to read Michael Zimmerman’s post this weekend on a Connecticut public school official advocating the controversial issue.

Zimmerman, founder of The Clergy Letter Project and blogger for the Huffington Post, wrote that the recent election of Chester Harris to the school board serving the Connecticut towns of Haddam and Killingworth is troubling because the man defines himself as a creationist and has already met with science teachers to discuss it.
