SIMSBURY, CT — On the Feb. 7 Super Bowl Sunday, women of the Simsbury United Methodist Church, raised $480 from the sale of Methodist Munch. The money will go to Interval House, a shelter for battered women in the Greater Hartford area. The Susanna’s, a women’s group with the church, started this project 10 years when they learned that Super Bowl Sundays often can result in many instances of abuse. The women make up the munch using nuts, cereal, candy, raisins, etc. and package it in individual bags ties with ribbons of the competing teams.
