The Conservative Bible Project claims Bible is too liberal

A new conservative, online Bible will soon be availableThe new site, Conservapedia, is exactly what it sounds. It’s a conservative wikipedia. But perhaps its most intriguing page is the one on the Conservative Bible Project. A liberal bias, the organizers claim, is taking over the Bible by those publishers who translate the text. The Conservative Bible Project has created the following guidelines, which the organization intends to use to translate a new version of the Bible (which they will base on the King James Version):

  1. Framework against Liberal Bias: providing a strong framework that enables a thought-for-thought translation without corruption by liberal bias
  2. Not Emasculated: avoiding unisex, “gender inclusive” language, and other feminist distortions; preserve many references to the unborn child (the NIV deletes these)
  3. Not Dumbed Down: not dumbing down the reading level, or diluting the intellectual force and logic of Christianity; the NIV is written at only the 7th grade level
