Forum on environmental concerns coming to Hartford

 HARTFORD — A Forum on Religion and the Environment, “A Sacred Trust” will take place on Oct.15, from 4-9 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Hartford.


The forum includes workshops on environmental concerns and is presented by Hartford Seminary and the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network (IREJN).


The keynote is “Coming Home: The Oikos of God and Climate Change” by Michael Schut, economic and environmental affairs officer of the Episcopal Church.


Workshops include community gardening, harvesting local energy, the new cosmology, communicating climate change, energy efficiency for homes and business, toxic substance control and spiritual resources for teaching and preaching creation.


Workshop presenters include Dr. Anthony Leiserowitz, Bettylou Sandy, Sharon and Richard Vocke, Rosemarie Greco, DW, Doug Cahill, and Sarah Uhl.
